Here is a pic of the bear that scared the sh*% out of me at the creek. Anthoney got a kick out of it the first time he saw the bear. The second bear that we saw, Anthoney nearly killed himself by rolling down the hill. Yes, he ran after the ranger told us not to run....

Yes, that is a big bear...your dad looked at the pix and seems to think it is a brown grizzly...damm Steph.
Tell me you were using a telephoto lens! And you had the coolness to take a picture???
Actually he was an American Black Bear and no that was not a telephoto lens. He was directly across the creek.
Who said it is an American Black Bear? A ranger that has never seen a grizzly? Now, your dad has seen many American Black Bears in black, red and brown and none of them have that frickin HUMP!
The rangers 'say' that grizzly bears are extinct in CA. Yeah right, what do they know! Dad is probably right...I wish he was there with us!!!hint hint

Actually, rosemary, that IS a black bear. I think the camera angle just makes it look like a hump. I looked at it closely and it's a black bear. But I don't think grizzlies are extinct in CA. I've never heard THAT before. Still, scarily close.
